Ngﾄ（ Tahu are the iwi comprised of Ngﾄ（ Tahu whﾄ］ui; that is, the collective of the individuals who descend from the five primary hapﾅｫ of Ngﾄ（ Tahu, Ngﾄ》i Mﾄ［oe and Waitaha, namely Kﾄ》i Kurﾄｫ, Ngﾄ》i Irakehu, Kﾄ》i Huirapa, Ngﾄ（ Tﾅｫﾄ”uriri and Ngﾄ（ Te Ruahikihiki.
Te Rﾅｫnanga o Ngﾄ（ Tahu was established by the Te Rﾅｫnanga o Ngﾄ（ Tahu Act 1996 and services the tribe's statutory rights and ensures that the benefits of the Settlement are enjoyed by Ngﾄ（ Tahu whﾄ］ui now and in the future.
Throughout the South Island there are 18 local rﾅｫnanga. An elected representative from each of rﾅｫnanga makes up Te Rﾅｫnanga o Ngﾄ（ Tahu, the governing body overseeing the tribe's activities.
