Founded in 1856, Nelson College has the distinction of being ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ’s first ever state school which is why we have harboured the notion of being trail blazers ever since!

The College is located in beautiful Nelson City, the sunshine capital of ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ, and close to beaches, rivers,  mountains, the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks. Nelson is a regional centre that boosts and supports a vibrant arts community and is also an important airline hub with the fourth busiest airport in ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ.  It is close to international airports in Wellington (25 minutes), Christchurch (45 minutes) and Auckland (80 minutes).

Nelson College is situated in a picturesque setting, with excellent facilities for learning, sport, leisure and performing arts. Twenty two hectares of impressive grounds include playing fields, a pool, two gymnasiums, tennis and fives courts as well as a traditional hall and modern performing arts suite.
