About the scholarship
A Prize to recognise the most outstanding work in the fields of Shakespeare studies or Milton studies carried out at the University of Auckland in even years. This Prize commemorates the Professor of English in the Auckland University College for the years 1934-46 and the foundation Professor of English in the University of Waikato. It was established in 1973 by friends and students from the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato and is awarded by the two institutions alternately.
