About the scholarship
An Award of $2,000 to a full-time domestic BA or BA conjoint student majoring in Theological and Religious Studies whose Stage II essay best challenges traditional boundaries and religious thought. This Award was established in 2018 and is funded by David Hare, an alumnus of Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, who completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Theological and Religious Studies and Politics and International Relations, with a view to researching the structural issues behind impoverishment and the theological and political implications of social justice. The main purpose of the Award is to encourage students to explore and challenge traditional boundaries and religious thought through interdisciplinary study.
