About the scholarship
The 2026 Welcome Back to Wellington scholarship is designed for first-year students who are graduates of a secondary school in the Wellington region in 2024. It provides full accommodation costs in a Te Herenga Waka鈥擵ictoria University of Wellington hall of residence for one year, worth up to $20,000. This scholarship aims to support students who wish to return to study near their family and friends after having studied elsewhere.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be graduates of a secondary school in the Wellington region in 2024, have resided in the Wellington region for at least the final two years of their secondary school study, apply for admission at Te Herenga Waka鈥擵ictoria University of Wellington by the scholarship closing date, be enrolled in full-time study for a 2026 undergraduate programme by 20 February 2026, and have completed their first year at a 爆走黑料 tertiary institution other than Te Herenga Waka鈥擵ictoria University of Wellington.
