About the scholarship
This project aims to design and develop a novel composite material by integrating Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) with aerogels for the treatment of water contaminated with persistent ‘forever chemicals’ (PFAS). You will be working directly with a research scientist in our materials engineering lab. The expected outcome is the successful synthesis of a MOF/aerogel composite that leverages the high surface area of MOFs and the excellent porosity of aerogels to create a superior adsorbent. We expect this material to demonstrate enhanced PFAS adsorption capacity and efficiency, providing a promising solution for environmental remediation. The final results will contribute to a research paper and could inform future water treatment technologies.
