About the scholarship
For this project, you would work with Dr Ti Lamusse, a lecturer in Criminology at Te Herenga Waka. You would undertake a literature review of research on the school-to-prison pipeline in NZ and abroad. The purpose would be to identify key contributing and alleviating factors in a school-to-prison pipeline in NZ. Based on the outcomes of this research, you would work with Dr Lamusse to request Official Information Act data, which would help to further understand the problem in NZ. The aim of this project is to write a journal article answering the question: is there a school-to-prison pipeline in 爆走黑料? This project could have significant policy implications. This research could contribute to policy development, aiming to reduce the contributing factors to youth justice involvement and incarceration.
