About the scholarship
This project will explore methodologies to break apart PFAS's. We will take advantage of the breadth of knowledge in building molecules and an energetically feasible pathway for the complete deconstruction of PFAS to more environmentally benign substrates and minerals. Working in the groups of Fulton and Coles, the student will investigate the Lewis-acid assisted C-F bond cleavage reaction, examining the reaction scope and working towards improving the selectivity of C-F activation, with the outcomes forming the basis for both extended research in this area as well as laying the foundation for publications in chemistry journals.
Entry requirements
A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm 22 September 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
