About the scholarship
The project aims to examine the scope of the literature related to wahine M膩ori conceptualisation of Hauora and the practices they embed in their daily lives to maintain their hauora. In particular, this project will undertake a Kaupapa M膩ori approach to a scoping review, drawing on concepts of Mana Wahine and Atua wahine to privilege an indigenous, strengths-based approach. The student will be working alongside Dr Rochelle Ellison-Lupena from Te Puna Hauora to co-analyse and co-author publications. At the end of this project we will have a consolidated understanding of the breadth and scope of beliefs and practices related to hauora for wahine M膩ori. This analysis of the literature will inform the content of a peer-reviewed journal publication.
