About the scholarship
This project involves automation of a thermocouple homogeneity scanner, a precision measurement device used for non-invasive inspection of thermoelement health. The scanner is a custom-built multi-component device, utilising motor control, temperature control, and data logging and analysis. It currently runs on LabView, and the main task of the project will be to create a new instrument control and data acquisition program in Python. Time permitting, the Python program will be modified to automate thermocouple calibration furnace measurements.
