About the scholarship
The project will involve contributing to studies on volcanoes of the Taup艒 Volcanic Zone and Kermadec Arc across a range of field and laboratory settings and in collaboration with staff at VUW and Dr Shane Rooyakkers from ESNZ (formerly GNS). The work involves a mixture of cataloguing of materials from the Kermadec Arc at the ESNZ Avalon centre, joining in fieldwork on geological and geophysical studies at 艑kataina volcano and undertaking mineral separation and sample imaging at VUW. The student will be exposed to and trained in a wide variety of methodologies in the Earth sciences, including interactions with ESNZ staff and Iwi in the 艑kataina area.
Entry requirements
