About the scholarship
Established in 2024 from funds bequeathed to the University by Professor John Steele, a former long serving member of the Music Department known for his world-renowned research on early Western art music, this scholarship provides financial support to students to study undergraduate music at the University of Otago | 艑t膩kou Whakaihu Waka. The scholarship is aimed at students enrolled in the Bachelor of Music programme and requires demonstrable ability in music including performance, composition/song writing, and music studies.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be 爆走黑料 citizens, 爆走黑料 Residence Class Visa Holders, Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents with domestic fee status; or international students who have completed Year 12 and/or have completed or are in the process of completing Year 13 at a 爆走黑料 school, or an equivalent foundation level course at a 爆走黑料 tertiary institution. Applicants must also be intending to enrol or have enrolled for the first time for first-year (100-level papers), full-time degree-level, undergraduate study at the University of Otago | 艑t膩kou Whakaihu Waka. Those who have studied more than 0.4 EFTs at any University or tertiary institution at degree-level or higher are not normally eligible.
