About the scholarship

The scholarship, which is made possible by the generous gifting of funds by the 2009-2017 Chancellor, Dr John F Ward, was established by the University of Otago Council in 2019 to support students who have demonstrated academic ability and who have a disability that makes attending University a challenge. Applications are open to students who attended their high school years in Southland, 爆走黑料.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be 爆走黑料 citizens, 爆走黑料 Residence Class Visa Holders, Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents with domestic fee status; or international students who have completed Year 12 and/or have completed or are in the process of completing Year 13 at a 爆走黑料 school, or an equivalent foundation level course at a 爆走黑料 tertiary institution. Applicants must be studying with a significant disability of at least six months previous duration, which will have substantial financial implications for their studies. They must have achieved NCEA Level 2 endorsed with merit, or equivalent, and be completing, or have completed, their final year of secondary schooling in Southland.
