About the scholarship
Awards of up to $16,000 each to support women doctoral students to make substantial progress towards completion of a PhD or named Doctorate. The Award was established in 2012 and is funded by the Kate Edger Foundation. The main purpose of the Award is to assist a woman graduate who has completed a minimum of three years of full-time study or six years of part-time study towards a PhD or named Doctorate, to have at least four months free of employment and to remain or become a full-time student, in order to make substantial progress towards completion of a PhD or named Doctorate qualification. The Award is intended for students studying full-time towards a qualification; however, the Trustees recognise that health conditions or impairments can limit a person's ability to study full-time and have extended the Award in 2023 to include part-time study on a case-by-case basis.
