About the scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to support students for study towards a Master's degree in Commerce at the University of Canterbury.Value/Benefits:a. Financial assistance with the costs associated with university study, to a value of $16,500 Level of Study: Master's Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 15 October (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)Tenure: One year Number Available Annually: One Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Must be enrolled, full-time or part-time, in a programme for a Master's degree in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Canterbury Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable For more information, please click on the award name above. However, such an application will be accepted only in a year in which the applicant has held the scholarship, and any second tenure must begin in the following year.Tenure is not restricted to research-only students. The scholarship may also be held by students in Master's programmes in Commerce by papers only (coursework-based study).A scholarship was established in 1995 by a gift from BZW (Barclays de Zoete Wedd) Investment Management ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Limited, under the name The BZW Investment Management ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Limited Masters Scholarship in Commerce. In 1997, The ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Guardian Trust Company Limited took over the responsibility for the scholarship, and the scholarship?s name was changed to The Guardian Trust Masters Scholarship in Commerce. In 2014, ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Guardian Trust Funds Management Limited (which, in 2003, had replaced The ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Guardian Trust Company Limited) was disestablished, and the University was informed by the successor companies that a representative associated with the founders of the scholarship was no longer required on the scholarship?s selection committee.
