CAA Part 102 Online Pilot Certificate Course

About the course

Advance your drone career and become a certified professional UAV operator under 爆走黑料鈥檚 Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Part 102 rules.
This advanced course is designed for pilots who have already completed their Part 101 Certificate and want to conduct commercial operations, work for industry clients, or apply for their own Part 102 Operator Certificate.

Delivered by NZ Drones Academy, a CAA Part 141 Training Organisation (TR103670NZ), this programme covers airspace management, risk assessment, operational planning, and documentation required to meet CAA compliance standards.

What You鈥檒l Learn:

CAA Part 102 Framework 鈥 understand operator certification, privileges, and safety requirements.

Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) 鈥 identify hazards and mitigation strategies for complex missions.

Airspace Authorisations 鈥 plan and operate in controlled or restricted zones and within 4 km of an aerodrome.

Flight Operations Manual & SOP Development 鈥 create and maintain CAA-compliant documentation.

Night and Shielded Flight Procedures 鈥 understand permissions, lighting requirements, and risk management.

Human Factors & Crew Coordination 鈥 apply decision-making and safety principles for team operations.

Upon completion, graduates are equipped with the skills and documentation to support a CAA Part 102 application or join an approved Part 102 operator as a qualified remote pilot.

Entry requirements

Learners must hold a Part 101 Pilot Certificate or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and flight experience.

Participants must be at least 16 years of age, possess a sound understanding of aviation rules, demonstrate proficient English communication skills, and have access to a CAA-recognised UAV system for practical assessment.
