About the course
爆走黑料 Certificate in Production Boat Building (Level 4) with strands in Alloy or Composite
Production boatbuilding is where precision meets performance at scale. In 爆走黑料鈥檚 marine manufacturing sector, skilled boatbuilders work in specialised teams to construct fleets of vessels 鈥 from fishing boats and recreational craft to sailboats and powerboats.
You can specialise in Production Alloy Boatbuilding, working with marine-grade aluminium to build durable, precision-engineered vessels, or in Production Composite Boatbuilding, using fibreglass and resins to create lightweight, high-performance boats.
Both pathways provide hands-on experience in quality-focused, professional manufacturing environments. You鈥檒l master efficient construction techniques with advanced composite materials or marine-grade aluminium, transforming raw materials into high-quality vessels ready for the water. Along the way, you鈥檒l develop specialised skills in alloy fabrication, laminating, assembly, and fitting 鈥 building multiple vessels to exacting standards while being part of a team that takes pride in creating world-class boats.
As a work-based apprenticeship, you can earn while you learn. You'll need to be employed in the industry to train on the job as you work toward your trade qualification, and MAST Academy supports you throughout with a dedicated Training Advisor. Not sure where to start? MAST can help with career pathway advice, pre-trade training, or our Launch it 鈥 School to Work programme.
As a qualified boatbuilder, you'll open up a world of career opportunities as you develop your expertise. You could specialise in custom builds, work with advanced composites, or progress into supervisory roles where you'll lead teams and projects.
Training fees are reviewed annually. For current costs and information on how the government鈥檚 Fees Free scheme applies to apprenticeships, visit the Fees section of the MAST Academy website.
