About the course
This class is offered on a Wednesday night (6pm-8pm) for eight weeks.
This class will provide an introduction to cover the materials and techniques used in Watercolour painting.聽
Develop your watercolour skills and techniques. Weekly themes to expand ideas in making art and experimentation with the medium with demonstration and individual guidance from the teacher. Connect with other artists regularly in a friendly and informative night class setting that explores and demystifies watercolour painting.
Classes are suitable for both beginners and for those with previous experience.
Entry criteria
Students must be over 16 years of age.

This class is offered on a Wednesday evening from 6pm-8pm.聽
We offer one intake per term:聽

It is only possible to enrol for one term at a time. There will be no classes on public holidays.聽
Enrolments for the following term will open on the second week of the current term, on Wednesday at approximately midday, i.e. approximately 8 weeks before the start date of the聽 following term.聽

If you want to repeat this course, you will need to apply and pay for each term separately,聽via our Eventbrite platform (by clicking the link above). 聽
Course fees
$250 per term
Please note: Student loans are not available for short courses and night classes.
Materials
Materials you will need to bring to the first class are:
- 3 sheets of A4 or A3 100% cotton rag watercolour paper (300gsm recommended)
- Drawing pencil (HB)
- Eraser
- Paper towels
- Watercolour paint in the following colours (Reeves, Unit and Jasart not recommended):
- Lemon yellow
- Warm red
- Indigo
- Burnt umber
- Burnt sienna
- Ultramarine blue
- A selection of brushes you already have, or, if you are purchasing some, one large round brush and one small brush (make sure these are watercolour brushes)
- Masking tape
Please note: Students must be over 18 years of age to attend these classes.
Watercolour Painting classes are taught by Faye Powell Moore. Faye Powell Moore is a watercolour artist specialising in portraiture and botanical painting. They graduated honours with distinction and are currently completing their Master's degree at the Dunedin School of Art, where they specialise in watercolour painting.

Directions
Classes are held in the Life Drawing Room at the Dunedin School of Art. .
Go to the main entrance of the Dunedin School of Art at 19 Riego St (off the Anzac Avenue end of Albany St). The Life Drawing Room is on the first floor at the far end of the building.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to allow time for set up.
Refund information
For our enrolments you may be issued a full (except for Eventbrite fees) automatic refund up to 7 days before your event starts by requesting a refund through Eventbrite.
Refund requests after this date can be made by contacting聽[email protected] (Art Night Class Administration). These will be accepted on a case-by-case basis when exceptional circumstances are present. No refunds will be accepted after the start date of the class.
Please note, classes are offered on the basis that enrolment is for the full course.
