About the course
This qualification is for individuals who wish to explore the world of music performance, musical theory, and music technology from an introductory level.It provides students with the foundational knowledge to continue into a Certificate in Music (Level 4).Graduates can contribute to the cultural, social and economic life of Aotearoa ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ.Graduates of this qualification will be able to:Learn to read and write music from entry levelStudents will be given weekly one on one tuition on their chosen instrumentContribute to music composition and arrangementsCommunicate effectively with peers, tutors and work cohesively within a band environmentOrganize and implement personal and group practice routinePerform music with confidence and ability for an audienceDemonstrate rudimentary technical ability on a musical instrument(s)Use music creation and sound reinforcement technology safely and efficientlyApply a broad range of research skills to inform own music practiceTo log and reflect upon personal musical developmentUse a range of personal and interpersonal skills to work in the music industryApply understanding of the music industry to develop own career plan
